The Minister of Health and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel, inspected the headquarters and centers of the Authority in Taif Governorate, in the presence of leaders and officials of the health sectors in the region.
Al-Jalajel met with a number of leaders of the Authority in Makkah, headed by the Director of the Red Crescent Authority branch in Makkah, Dr. Mustafa bin Jameel Baljoun. During the meeting, he was briefed on the progress of work, achievement rates and performance indicators since the beginning of the current year. The total number of cases that were handled reached 244,243 cases, distributed between the Holy Capital with 119,258 cases, Jeddah Governorate with 83,570 cases, and Taif Governorate with 28,096 cases, and 178 cases were transported by air ambulance.
During the visit, His Excellency was briefed on the mechanisms and disaster and emergency vehicles, in addition to a report on the training and community education programs, where the total number of courses provided reached 672 courses, benefiting 28,251 beneficiaries since the beginning of the year, in addition to a statistical presentation on the volunteer programs and volunteer opportunities provided by the Authority, where the total number of volunteers in the region reached 13,227 volunteers, including 6,348 males and 6,878 females, with a total of 216,992 volunteer hours.
At the end of the visit, the Minister stressed the keenness of the wise leadership to support the Authority's efforts in providing emergency services to citizens and residents, stressing the importance of continuing to work diligently in support of the health system strategies, to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
