Under the patronage of Minister of Health Fahd Al-Jalajel, the Third Global Summit on Inherited Blood Disorders was held in Riyadh, attended by 400 specialists, experts, researchers, health care providers, organizations, and unions from the Kingdom and abroad, to discuss the latest developments in the field of hematology, within the framework of the Ministry’s efforts locally and globally to prevent and reduce genetic diseases.
The summit aimed to enhance specialized knowledge in inherited blood disorders, discuss developments, review the most recent studies in the field, allow experts to communicate and exchange experiences, anticipate the future of blood diseases, in a way that enhances cognitive awareness and prevent inheritance of blood diseases among generations.
The Saudi Health Ministry seeks to coordinate and unify efforts to reduce inherited blood disorders and strengthen the Kingdom’s position in the Middle East and North Africa region in terms of combating common inherited disorders.
It is worth noting that the Kingdom’s hosting of this Summit comes within the Ministry’s efforts which aim at facilitating access to health services and developing them and meeting the goals of the health sector transformation program to achieve a vibrant society, and a comprehensive, effective and integrated health system, based on the health of the individual and society, according to Saudi Vision 2030.
