Urologists in the eastern region were able to provide specialized services to more than 1,000 beneficiaries, and to perform operations on more than 288 patients in the past year 2022.
Al-Ahsa Health Cluster stated that the number of beneficiaries of the urology unit at King Fahd Hospital in Hofuf reached (1040) patients, including (82) cases of dynamic cystography, and (173) cases of minor operations, in addition to (785) who received other services in the unit.
Al-Ahsa Health Cluster confirmed that the urology unit performs examinations and analyzes for patients and follows up the results, in addition to conducting simple operations to remove ureteral stents and cystoscopes, conducting dynamic bladder planning studies, neurostimulation sessions for the bladder, as well as bladder treatment sessions for tissue inflammation syndrome, catheter replacement, and teaching self-catheterization.
The Cluster added that the Clinic for Neurological Bladder Surgery and Pelvic Reconstruction contributed to reducing the percentage of referrals outside Al-Ahsa in the subspecialty of Neurosurgery and Reconstructive Surgery by 66%, as it provided its services since its opening in the past year 2022 to (582) patients, who were previously referred to specialized hospitals outside Al-Ahsa.
It is noteworthy that Al-Ahsa Health Cluster provides its services through 85 health facilities at all levels of health care provision, represented by 10 general and specialized hospitals, 5 medical centers and 65 primary health care centers.
