MOH: More than 111,000 Male and Female Pilgrims Receive Medical Services in Makkah and Al-Madinah

Ministry of Health stated that the number of pilgrims who received treatment services through hospitals and health centers in Makkah and Al-Madinah reached (111,761) male and female pilgrims from the first day of the month of Dhul-Qi’dah until Tuesday corresponding to the ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah 1444H.

The ministry said: Pilgrims benefited from qualitative specialized treatment services, where hospitals provided a range of services, including: (48) open-heart surgeries and (776) cardiac catheterizations and (1446) dialysis operations, (55) endoscopy operations were performed, while (2548) pilgrims entered hospitals. (3) cases of childbirth, and virtual health participated in some services; As the total beneficiaries of Seha virtual services reached (3573) cases.
It is noteworthy that, during Hajj season of this year 1444H, in Makkah, the holy sites, and Al-Madinah, Ministry of Health equipped its health facilities to provide treatment services to the pilgrims and the number of hospitals reached (32) hospitals, supported by (140) healthcare centers, and their bed capacity increased to (6132) beds, while the number of beds allocated to intensive care reached (761) beds, and the number of beds designated for sunstroke reached (222) beds. The number of health staff qualified to serve the pilgrims is about (32) thousand practitioners. The Ministry has also prepared medical points on the Mashaer Train and Al-Haramain Train, and has intensified its efforts in the central area of the Holy Mosque of Makkah, in addition to providing (190) ambulances, and preparing (16) emergency centers on Jamarat Bridge facility in Mina.
