Participants in the dialogue on antimicrobial resistance, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the headquarters of the Permanent Saudi Mission in Geneva, at the invitation of His Excellency Minister of Health, Mr. Fahd bin Abdul Rahman Al-Jalajel, praised success and great interaction that the dialogue enjoyed, and its focus on basic and important axes in the antimicrobial resistance file.
This came within the activities accompanying the 76th session of General Assembly of the World Health Organization, in the presence of the President of the current session of the General Assembly of the World Health Organization, His Excellency Dr. Chris Fearn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health of the Republic of Malta, and Ministers of Health in each of: Sultanate of Oman: His Excellency Dr. Hilal Bin Ali Al-Sabti, and the State of Qatar: His Excellency Dr. Hanan Muhammad Al-Kuwari, and the Kingdom of Bahrain: His Excellency Dr. Jalila Bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan, His Excellency the Assistant Director-General of the World Health Organization, Dr. Hanan Balkhi, and His Excellency the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the United Nations and international organizations, Professor Abdul Mohsen bin Khathila.
The dialogue aims to shed light on challenges related to antimicrobial resistance, and to prepare for the Kingdom's hosting of the fourth high-level global ministerial conference on antimicrobial resistance in November 2024.
Several heads of delegations from member states of the association also participated in the meeting, in addition to representatives of international organizations and bodies interested in the file of antimicrobial resistance.
