Surgical Intervention Restores Walking for a Seventy-Year-Old Patient

Specialized medical team succeeded in performing a surgical intervention, contributed successfully in restoring the ability of a patient to move and practice his daily life in an operation that took an hour and a half, All Praises be to Allah.
Riyadh Third Health Cluster (R3HC) confirmed that the medical team supervising the case at Al-Diriyah Hospital received the case of a patient suffering from friction and severe pain in the right knee joint, which made him lose the ability to move and practice his daily life normally.
Riyadh Third Health Cluster said that the case was assessed and clinical, laboratory and radiological examinations were done, confirming presence of a severe friction in the knee joint, which caused inability to walk and inability to fully extend the leg and bend the knee. Therefore, it was decided that a surgical intervention be performed under supervision of a specialized medical team with various medical specialties. The patient underwent a successful operation, and he was able to move, fully extend the leg and bend the knee. His health condition is stable, and is currently undergoing physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
It is noteworthy that the number of visitors in 2022 to Diriyah Hospital increased, where the number of services provided to beneficiaries in outpatient clinics reached 21941 services, and the number of emergency visitors reached 18039, and the laboratory specialists were able to conduct 32624 laboratory examinations, while the number of surgeries reached 1106 operations and the number of radiological examinations reached 41280 examination.
