Ministry of Health Celebrates Second Batch Graduation of Critical Care Nursing Program 2022 Tomorrow

​​​Ministry of Health will celebrate the graduation of the second batch of critical care nursing program tomorrow, Wednesday, at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Riyadh.

Ministry explained that this program aims to increase the number of Saudi nursing in critical care departments to ensure the quality and safety of nursing care provided, and to train and qualify Saudi nursing in critical care departments, through an intensive program that provides nurses with knowledge necessary to be in a supportive work environment that requires professional behavior, ensuring high-quality health services.
Ministry of Health stated that the critical care nursing program targets 9 different health specialties to train and qualify 5,000 Saudi nurses to work in critical care departments, by joining them to an intensive training program for a period of nine months. The number of graduates of this batch is 3040 nursing cadres. The first tack of this program targets the newly appointed, while the second track targets the nursing cadre who works in less acute departments such as departments of internal medicine, surgery, outpatient clinics and primary health care centers to qualify them in critical care departments and achieve Saudization rates in line with Vision 2030.
The program provided the trainees with necessary knowledge, professional skills and experience to enable them to work in critical care departments to ensure the provision of a safe and quality nursing service in critical specialties such as intensive care of eye, pediatrics, neonatology, emergency departments in addition to dialysis units, heart centers, and oncology centers, where the trainees were instructed in 47 health facilities and under the supervision of Saudi trainers with experience in critical care, and they were qualified to train the nursing staff in this training program.
It is noteworthy that the first "experimental" batch started its training in December 2020 and graduated in April 2021, and the number of graduates of the first batch reached 827 nurses, with a completion rate of 89%, which aimed to qualify and graduate 1,200 nurses.​
