Honoring winners of "Wa'ai" Award in its fifth season, HE Minister of Health, emphasized leadership presentation of an awareness message and importance of prevention.
His Excellency Minister of Health, Mr. Fahd bin Abdul Rahman Al-Galagel, confirmed that our Wise Leadership, supported by Allah, was the first to take Corona Virus (Covid-19) vaccine, and provided an awareness message, which gave the community reassurance, so they approached the prevention bridge, took the step, and took the vaccine.
His Excellency stated that while sponsoring this closing ceremony of "Wa'ai" Award in its fifth season, which was organized by MOH in partnership with the Council of Health Insurance, "We are all grateful for this advanced level of awareness, which provided us with an impregnable shield, as our Saudi society was able in the last year to race time during the pandemic to get out of it, walking on the bridge of prevention that moved it to safety.
His Excellency added, when we go to the doctor, we come out with a paper, on which written a medical prescription, and another very important matter, which is information and recommendations related to our behavior and nature of our life. This is what the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 is based on, from introducing the principle of prevention, which is what we celebrate this Monday in "Wa'ai" Award, focusing on health information as an effective recipe for a healthy prosperous life.
His Excellency wondered “Is there anything more valuable than health? Our desires in life are many, but desire to live in health is on top of those desires, since it is so, correct health information is the most valuable gift, warning against traditional gifts, which are health information coming to you from unreliable sources and is often distributed in the (All are Selected) manner.”
Minister Al-Galagel also praised participants in "Wa’ai" Award, saying, “Wa’ai" Award participants provided health information from a reliable source and under supervision of a medical committee. For example, in the "Walk30" initiative, the number of those who participated in calculating the number of their steps through "Sehhaty" portal increased from 4 thousand subscribers in 2019 to more than 830 thousand subscribers in 2022, and this number is constantly increasing, and makes us always remember "your healthy behavior is an additional day in quality of your life".
For his part, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Communication and General Supervisor of "Wa'ai" Award, Engineer Anas Al-Hamid, said, "Five years, and the old new question is repeated every time. What is new and different that we will present this time? It was said in the past, "Accessing the top is easy, but it is difficult to maintain it." At the end of the ceremony, His Excellency, Minister of Health honored the winners of “Wa’ai” award, where the first place and the grand prize of SR. 150,000, was won by Abdul Aziz bin Dhaif Allah Al-Zahrani for short film, entitled "Awareness begins with a question", and Abdullah Muhammad Asiri won first place in the Motion Graphics track, and Maryam Omran Mabrouk won first place in the infographic track, and Hussain Kazem Hashem Al Hashem won first place in the photo track.
