According to Jazan Health affairs, the Cochlear Implant Center at King Fahad Central Hospital has successfully performed a hybrid cochlear implant for a patient suffering from high frequency hearing loss and low frequency residual hearing. The hybrid implant helps preserving residual hearing and hearing all sound frequencies, using a surgical microscope. The surgery was crowned with success and the patient left the hospital on the same day in good health. He restored his hearing and resumed his normal life, all praise be to Allah.
On the other hand, 2,369 surgical interventions were performed by the hospital during the first half of this year.
