MOH: Radiology Departments of Holy Sites’ Hospitals Linked to Teleradiology
05 July 2022
The Ministry of Health (MOH) has linked all radiology departments of the holy sites’ hospitals to the teleradiology system, in collaboration with «Seha» Virtual Hospital, through writing diagnostic reports by consultants in radiology subspecialties. This comes as part of MOH’s relentless endeavors to improve its health services provided to pilgrims, and within the framework of its continuous development of health services. Also, as part of its preparations for this year’s Hajj season, MOH has launched remote ultrasound services in emergency and ICU departments to help physicians in conducting diagnostic examinations for patients quickly around the clock, with the help of radiologists and without the need to move patients.

Within the same vein, MOH has completed the operation of Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and ensured its readiness to improve the quality of diagnostic outputs and facilitate the quick access to patient reports, in addition to their link with pilgrims' health records.

For its part, MOH’s Radiology and Applied Services General Department has conducted several tours across radiology departments of the holy sites hospitals to perform quality control (QC) tests for x-ray and CT equipment, and to determine their readiness during this year’s Hajj season.
