The Ministry of Health (MOH) has started today (Tuesday) morning group transportation of sick pilgrims of different nationalities from Madinah hospitals to holy sites in Makkah to enable them to perform Hajj. The service was suspended during the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to MOH, the medical caravan includes 10 well-equipped ambulances with the presence of a specialized medical team consisting of doctors, nurses and paramedics, in addition to 5 standby ambulances, an intensive care ambulance, an integrated oxygen cabin, a mobile first aid workshop, and a bus for transporting patient companions.
Every year, MOH transports pilgrims hospitalized in Madinah hospitals to holy sites to enable them to complete their Hajj rituals in health and peace, and to follow up their treatment in Makkah’s hospital.
A number of sick pilgrims and their companions expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Highness the Crown Prince - may Allah protect them - for facilitating the means of performing the Hajj, and for the healthcare services provided to them in Madinah since their arrival until the time of their departure for Makkah to perform Hajj.
