In celebration of the World Asthma Day, which was held this year under the theme: «Closing Gaps in Asthma Care», the Eastern Region Health Affairs has organized a number of awareness-raising events and activities, benefiting more than 15,000 people.
According to the Affairs, these activities aim to raise awareness about asthma, its symptoms, triggers, ways of prevention, and how to take asthma medications of all kinds (emergency and preventive). The activities featured asthma awareness-raising booths, including: a medical consultation booth, in which a number of consultants participated in answering visitors’ inquiries, and a special booth to raise awareness of smoking harms and its effects on asthma. The activities also featured an asthma medication awareness booth, another one for asthma devices and how to use them, in addition to an introductory booth on how to deal with a student with asthma at schools.
