Riyadh Health Affairs Refers 9,528 Violations to Specialized Committees

​​The field teams of the Compliance Assistance Department in Riyadh Health Affairs General Directorate revealed that they implemented 200,563 oversight and inspection tours, which resulted in reporting 9,528 violations, and referring them to the concerned committees in 2021. In addition, 3,349 establishments were closed, and 19 licenses were revoked in the same year. 


Riyadh Health Affairs explained that it has looked into 43,362 complaints and reports made via MOH's (937) line. It has also examined 4,207 medical issues involving health establishments and workers committing violations of the health regulations and requirements, and 3,349 penalty decisions were made against these violators. 

Riyadh Health Affairs was keen on intensifying its daily awareness-raising monitoring visits with the aim of increasing the level of compliance of health establishments in hospitals, complexes, pharmacies, and other health establishments. It said that the mission of the compliance team includes monitoring private sector health establishments. 

Compliance monitors conduct hundreds of daily visits to establishments and pharmacies to ensure they comply with the stipulated health requirements. 
Riyadh Health Affairs called on health care providers and health practitioners to adhere to the regulations stipulated in the Saudi health laws, and adhere to the procedures and precautionary measures adopted across the Kingdom. 

This aims to ensure the safety and health of patients, and help establishments and individuals ward off legal penalties, including fines up to SAR 300,000, a closure of an establishment, or a license revocation for a health facility or a practitioner for up to 2 years.
