The College of American Pathologists (CAP) has renewed its accreditation for the second time for Riyadh Regional Laboratory & Blood Bank; after meeting all accreditation standards. The laboratory had earlier obtained the accreditation of the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), in addition to ISO 15189 accreditation.
According to Riyadh Health Affairs, the regional laboratory and blood bank-Riyadh is a training and educational edifice; which provides its services to 12 public universities, especially in the qualification of physicians and specialists to work in medical laboratories. “The laboratory annually conducts more than 17 million lab tests, serving more than 500 healthcare facilities inside and outside the Ministry of Health”, stated the Affairs.
