Al-Qunfudah: 20,000+ Home Medical Visits Conducted in 11 Months

According to Al-Qunfudah Health Affairs, from the beginning of January until the end of November 2021, the Home Healthcare Program has conducted 20,264 home visits, benefiting 451 patients enrolled in the program. Also, 3,520 trips were carried out to deliver medicine and supplies to patients’ homes, during the same period, it added.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Health (MOH) provides home medicine program services through qualified medical teams at several hospitals and medical cities across the Kingdom. The services are provided to patients with the engagement of their families as per approved standards.
Moreover, the health services provided by the home medicine program include comprehensive medical and nursing care, following-up bed-ridden patients and the elderly and their chronic diseases, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory problems, injury care, bedsore, tubes, catheters, intravenous therapy, palliative care, and care for patients with psychiatric and neurological diseases. Also, the services include providing physical therapy service, respiratory therapy, clinical nutrition, and social services. The other main services include health education for patients and their families. They also include the provision of medical supplies and devices and medicines needed by the patients.
