 Jazan: 16,000+ Home Medical Visits Conducted in 3 Months

According to Jazan Health Affairs, over the 3rd quarter of the current year, the Home Healthcare Program has conducted 16,661 home visits, benefiting more than 16,000 patients enrolled in the program. 

Also, a number of trips were carried out to deliver medicine and supplies to patients’ homes, benefiting 634 patients, during the same period, it added.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Health (MOH) provides home medicine program services through qualified medical teams at several hospitals and medical cities across the Kingdom. The services are provided to patients with the engagement of their families as per approved standards.

Moreover, the health services provided by the home medicine program include comprehensive medical and nursing care, following-up bed-ridden patients and the elderly and their chronic diseases, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory problems, injury care, bedsore, tubes, catheters, intravenous therapy, palliative care, and care for patients with psychiatric and neurological diseases, in addition to providing physical therapy service, respiratory therapy, clinical nutrition, and social services. The other main services include health education for patients and their families. They are not restricted to health, psychological and social services only. They also include the provision of medical supplies and devices and medicines needed by the patients.
