08 June 2021

In parallel with the World Asthma Day 2021, the Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Pharmaceutical Care General Department, has activated several awareness-raising activities, with the participation of the pharmaceutical care departments in regions and governorates, as well as health clusters. The day is observed in May every year with the aim of raising awareness about bronchial asthma throughout the world.

This year's day is celebrated under the theme “Uncovering Asthma Misconceptions” with the aim of debunking common myths about the disease, which may prevent the asthma patient from enjoying the optimal benefits of the new developments in the treatment of asthma.

It is noteworthy that there is a set of important information the health professional needs to get acquainted with in order to deal with patients, including general tips and instructions on taking asthma control test for adults and children over 12 years as well as those aged 5-12 years. The test aims to determine whether the asthma action plan is going well and how to take childhood asthma control test.
