According to Taif Health Affairs, the partial power outage at the children's hospital departments was caused by a failure in the hospital’s internal network. The problem was handled immediately and the power restored to the hospital. A committee was formed comprising the engineering affairs and hospital management to study the cause of the blackout. They found that the partial blackout was caused by a failure in the mainline supplying the hospital and not the public grid.
The initial findings blamed the local contractor for the interruption in the power supply. The Saudi Electricity Company’s emergency services teams have inspected the failure site and a new line is being supplied to restore the electrical current permanently.
