According to Riyadh Health Affairs, over the past year, Riyadh region’s hospitals have dispensed 2,562,508 prescriptions.
On the other hand, the Affairs said that 40 primary healthcare centers have been prepared for the 5th stage of accreditation of the Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI), indicating that the antibiotic program has been activated in 6 hospitals (King Khaled hospitals in Al-Kharj, Majmaa, Al-Zulfi, Ad-Dawadmi, Wadi Ad-Dawasir Al-Quway'iyah), as well as activating the daily and monthly link of antibiotics, with weekly follow-up and supervision. In addition, the Affairs has introduced the drug barcode technology for the Pharmaceutical Care Department’s work team to scan the barcode and obtain accurate medication information in Arabic. In this regard, 336 drug bulletins have been prepared as part of the pharmaceutical education efforts.
