MOH Implements Strict Measures at Ports of Entry to Combat New Mutant Strain of Coronavirus

​The Ministry of Health (MOH) has tested 34 passengers who have arrived at King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh today (Monday) evening from the Netherlands. Samples have been taken from the arriving passengers at the airport and all of them have a negative test result. Isolation and testing will continue until 14 days have elapsed.​

Such step comes as part of the proactive and preventive measures carried out by the ministry to combat the mutated coronavirus until the epidemiological data about this strain of the virus is complete.

Currently, MOH is communicating with 1,131 persons who have arrived in the Kingdom after December 8th,2020, and tested negative for COVID-19. It advised them to commit to isolation, noting that genetic sequencing of positive samples is underway by the National Health Laboratory.

The Ministry called on everyone to call the (937) service center in case of any inquiry, stressing the importance of obtaining information from its official sources, and avoiding listening to rumors.
