MOH: New Mechanism for Weekly Monitoring of COVID-19 Cases

​The Assistant Minister of Health and MOH spokesman, Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdulaali, said that the ministry has developed a new mechanism for monitoring cases of COVID-19 infection on a weekly infection map. He pointed out that the surge, which has been noticed in Madinah, started to decline as a result of the precautionary measure taken by the concerned authorities, calling on everyone to abide by the health instructions.  ​

During a press conference he held today (Sunday), MOH spokesman stated that 217 new confirmed cases of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported in the Kingdom; thus bringing the total number to 357,128 confirmed cases, including 4,835 active cases, receiving the necessary medical care. Of these, there are 674 critical cases, while the health condition of the rest is stable. In addition, 386 new recoveries have been recorded, bringing the total recoveries to 346,409 cases, all praise is due to Allah. Also, 14 new deaths have been reported; bringing the total deaths to 5,884, May Allah bestow His mercy upon them. Moreover, 34,616 new Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests for COVID-19 have been conducted, bringing the total tests to 9,576,718 in the Kingdom's laboratories.
 
Al-Abdulaali said that it is important to visit «Tetamman» Clinics for those who show any symptoms, particularly the respiratory symptoms. He reiterated the importance of wearing a face mask, washing hands frequently, avoiding handshakes, keeping a safe distance from others, and making sure your room is always well ventilated.

The health services are still provided through all MOH’s facilities, with 5,260,242 Molecular Diagnostic Tests «Swab Tests» at Make Sure «Taakkad» Centers, 1,614,146 patients were served at Rest Assured «Tetamman» Clinics, in addition to offering medical consultations via 937-Service Center to 22,113,480 beneficiaries, he added.
