08 July 2020

Governor of Madinah, HRH Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, in the presence of Health Minister, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, has inaugurated today (Wednesday) an integrated hospital in Madinah. The 100-bed hospital, including 20 ICU beds, has been built in 59 days, in line with the Kingdom efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and in partnership with the national energy sector represented by ACWA Power Company. The 15,000-square-meter hospital is equipped with the state-of-the-art medical supplies and equipment. It is also enhanced with advanced infrastructure and support services, including electrical and mechanical systems, and medical gas network and firefighting systems.

Recently, Utility developer ACWA Power and Thabat Company have signed an agreement to build an integrated 100-bed mobile hospital in Madinah to treat Coronavirus patients. The agreement comes in lines with the Ministry of Energy’s directives to take advantage of the capabilities of the Saudi energy system to back the precautionary and preventive measures taken by the competent authorities to combat the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Recently, MOH announced that more than 2,500 ICU beds have been added to hospitals across the Kingdom within 3 months. It has also increased lab testing to more than 60,000 tests daily across the Kingdom.
