Al-Jouf: 143 Chemotherapy Sessions Conducted by Oncology Center Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

​According to Al-Jouf Health Affairs, the Oncology Center of King Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital- Sakaka has conducted 92 chemotherapy sessions for cancer patients from the region and nearby northern regions, amid the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). It confirmed that the center has increased its readiness level and implemented the precautionary measures to protect the patients. The services provided by the medical team include chemotherapy doses and palliative medicine. All sessions were successful, adds the Affairs.


It is noteworthy that the Center features 22 inpatient rooms, chemotherapy preparation unit, chemotherapy treatment unit, family room and communication skills room. 

In the same vein, the University’s Nuclear Department has provided diagnostic services using radioisotopes and radioiodine treatment to 51 patients. Also, the department receives cases transferred from the various section of the hospital and all hospitals in the region and the neighboring northern regions. The diagnostic and therapeutic services in the hospital include cancer diseases, endocrine glands, as well as kidney failure and other diseases.
