MOH: 3,717 New COVID-19 Cases, 1,019,812 Total Lab Tests

According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), 3,717 new confirmed cases of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported today (Wednesday) in the Kingdom; thus bringing the total number to 112,288 cases, including 33,515 active cases, receiving the necessary medical care. Of these, there are 1,693 critical cases, while the health condition of the rest is stable. Also, 1,615 cases have been recovered, bringing the total recoveries to 77,954 cases, all praise is due to Allah.


“The new confirmed cases include 53% Saudi citizens and 47% non-Saudi residents. About 32% of the cases are females, and 68% are males. Only 4% of the reported cases are older persons, 11% are children, and 85% are adults,” MOH stated.

MOH added that these new cases were distributed as follows: 1,317 in Riyadh, 460 in Jeddah, 194 in Hofuf, 189 in Dammam, 157 in Qatif, 140 in Makkah, 127 in Madinah, 127 in Taif, 103 in Khobar, 63 in Diriyah, 55 in Al-Muzahimiyah, 52 in Dhahran, 50 in Abha, 47 in Al-Mubarraz, 42 in Hail, 41 in Jubail, 34 in Wadi Al-Dawasir, 33 in Al-Oyoun, 33 in Safwa, 31 in Buraydah, 28 in Al-Kharj, 24 in Yanbu, 23 in Hotat Bani Tamim, 21 in Ras Tanura, 21 in Baish, 20 in Jazan, 17 in Najran, 17 in Tabuk, 16 in Khamis Mushayt, 16 in Wadi Bin Hashbal, 15 in Ahad Rufaida, 11 in As Sulayyil, 10 in Al-Jafr, 10 in Sabya, 8 in Hafr Al-Batin, 7 in Al-Rass, 7 in Qusaiba, 7 in Layla, 6 in Al-Baha, 6 in Sakakah, 6 in Adham, 6 in Dawadimi, 6 in Thadiq, 5 in Muhayil Asir, 5 in Al-Zulfi, 5 in Rwoaidat Al-Ardh, 5 in Shaqra,  4 in Al-Harajah, 4 in Al-Eidabi, 4 in Al-Dayer, 4 in Al-Layth, 4 in Al-Majma'ah, 3 in Unaizah, 3 in Al-Quoz, 3 in Al-Sahn, 3 in Qeya, 3 in Tanumah, 3 in Samtah, 3 in Dharma,  3 in Huraymala, 2 in Makhwah, 2 in Riyadh Al-Khubara, 2 in Sarat Ubaida, 2 in Sabt Al-Alaya, 2 in Nuairiyah, 2 in Abu Arish, 2 in Al-Darb, 2 in Farasan, 2 in Sharurah, 2 in Al-Quwayiyah, 2 in Tamir, in addition to one case in each of Al Aqiq, Al-Qura, Al-Ula, Al-Badaye, Al-Bukayriyah, Oyoun al-Jawa, Oqlat Al-Suqoor, Al-Muzailif, Al-Qunfudhah, Al-Qarei, Al-Khurma, Dhulam, Rania, Al-Namas, Dhahran Al-Janoub, Bisha, Salwa, Baqa'a, Al-Reith, Ahad Al-Masarihah, Rabigh, Al-Kamel, Habouna, Arar, Afif, Al-Artawiyah, Al-Dalam, and Al-Hariq. Moreover, 36 new deaths have been reported; bringing the total deaths to 819.

Regarding the lab tests in the Kingdom, 22,139 new lab tests have been conducted; bringing the total tests to date to 1,019,812. Furthermore, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide has jumped to 7,257,519 cases, of which 3,387,891 cases have recovered to date. As for the COVID-19 death toll, it has jumped to 411,681.  

Besides, MOH has called all people to keen to frequently wash their hands with water and soap, as it is the major shield against coronavirus, and to wear medical or cloth face masks, or any mouth-nose covers, except those who are alone in a closed area.

MOH reiterated that anyone, who has symptoms or wants an assessment, can use the self-assessment service on «Mawid» app. Those, who have questions, can also inquire or seek advice by calling the 937-Service Center, available 24/7. The Center is now made closer to everyone than ever. The public can also benefit from its interactive services through WhatsApp app. on the number 920005937. They can have access to health information and updates on COVID-19. The service also provides users with information on blood donation and primary health care centers (PHCs). Besides, it enables them to reserve appointments.
