​MOH: 3,045 New COVID-19 Cases Reported, Recoveries Surpass 72,000

According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), 3,045 new confirmed cases of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported in the Kingdom; thus bringing the total number to 101,914 cases, including 28,385 active cases, receiving the necessary medical care. Of these, there are 1,564 critical cases, while the health condition of the rest is stable. Also, 1,026 cases have been recovered, bringing the total recoveries to 72,817 cases, all praise is due to Allah.

“The new confirmed cases include 55% Saudi citizens and 45% non-Saudi residents. About 34% of the cases are females, and 66% are males. Only 5% of the reported cases are older persons, 12% are children, and 83% are adults,” MOH stated.

MOH added that these new cases were distributed as follows: 717 in Riyadh, 623 in Makkah, 351 in Jeddah, 257 in Dammam, 132 in Hofuf, 120 in Qatif, 110 in Madinah, 95 in Taif, 62 in Khobar, 60 in Jubail, 34 in Al-Mirz, 31 in Dhahran, 27 in Hafr Al-Batin, 27 in Jazan, 27 in Diriyah, 26 in Ras Tanura, 22 in Khamis Mushayt, 20 in Yanbu, 19 in Safwa, 18 in Al-Oyoun, 18 in Najran, 16 in Buraydah, 16 in Arar, 15 in Al-Jafr, 13 in Al-Muzahimiyah, 13 in Wadi Al-Dawasir, 11 in Sabya, 11 in Tabuk, 10 in Bisha , 10 in Al-Kharj, 9 in Baish, 8 in Mahd Al-Dhahab, 8 in Hotat Bani Tamim, 6 in Al-Layth, 4 in Quba, 4 in Abha, 4 in Al-Majardah, 4 in Al-Nuairiyah, 4 in Al-Darb, 3 in Wadi Al-Far‘, 3 in Raniah, 3 in Ahad Rufaida, 3 in Tabalah, 3 in Salwa, 3 in Al-Eidabi, 3 in Al-Kamil, 3 in Khulais, 3 in Al-Quwayiyah, 3 in Al-Sulayyil, 2 in Al-Baha, 2 in Al-Mahani, 2 in Al-Madhah, 2 in Al-Bashayer, 2 in ‎Ahad Al Masarihah, 2 in Ad-Dawadimi, 2 in Al-Majma‘a, 2 in Dharma, 2 in Huraymala, 2 in Shaqra, in addition to one case in each of Al-Hamnah, Al-Bukayriyah, Al-Russ, Qusaiba, Al-Quoz, Al-Muzailif, Al-Moya, Umm Al-Doom, Al-Namas, Muhayil Asir, Tathleeth, Abqaiq, Al-Olayya Village, Al-Aridhah, Al-Dyer, Samtah, Adham, Habbana, Khabash, Sharurah, Yidma, Rafhaa, Turaif, Afif , Al-Bejadyah, Al-Dalam, Al-Hariq, Al-Rayn, Ramah, Ruwaidah Al-Ard, Tamir, Thadiq, and Dhuba'a. Moreover, 36 new deaths have been reported; bringing the total deaths to 712.

Furthermore, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide has jumped to 6,913,608 cases, of which 3,095,348 cases have recovered to date. As for the COVID-19 death toll, it has jumped to 400,121.  Regarding the lab tests in the Kingdom, 25,036 new lab tests have been conducted, bringing the total tests to date to 958,237. 

Besides, MOH has called all people to keen to frequently wash their hands with water and soap, as it is the major shield against coronavirus, and to wear medical or cloth face masks, or any mouth-nose covers, except those who are alone in a closed area.

MOH reiterated that anyone, who has symptoms or wants an assessment, can use the self-assessment service on «Mawid» app. Those, who have questions, can also inquire or seek advice by calling the 937-Service Center, available 24/7. The Center is now made closer to everyone than ever. The public can also benefit from its interactive services through WhatsApp app. on the number 920005937. They can have access to health information and updates on COVID-19. The service also provides users with information on blood donation and primary health care centers (PHCs). Besides, it enables them to reserve appointments.
