The Laboratory and Blood Bank Department of King Fahd Central Hospital (KFCH)-Jazan has conducted 529,308 lab tests over the past two months (March and April), in conjunction with the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). The tests included the examination of microorganisms, histopathology, and biochemistry, hematology, viruses, as well as biomolecules, immunology, serology and point-of-care testing (POCT or bedside testing). Through the Blood Donation Center of the hospital, 1,276 blood units have been collected from donors, benefiting more than 3,800 patients.
