Northern Borders Governor Launches Health Projects worth SR157 Million

​His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Khaled bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Northern Borders, has inaugurated today health projects for this year 2020, at a total cost of SR157 million. ​

He highlighted the support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense HRH Prince Muhammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, may Allah protect them, and their keenness to provide quality health services for all citizens and making the reference and specialized hospitals and healthcare centers accessible for all citizens across the Kingdom.

He said, "Today, we celebrate inaugurating these vital specialized projects in the northern borders region, which reflects the wise leadership's support for the health sector in the country". He also highlighted Dr. Al Rabiah's role and attention to health development across the Kingdom and praised his efforts to achieve balanced health development in all regions in order to reduce outside referrals.

The Governor expressed his admiration of the projects that raise high hopes for the future of the health services in the region and clearly reflect the distinguished work and continuous developmental services in line with programs of the Saudi vision 2030, which aims to develop the health sector in order to provide high-quality service and improve life quality. He underlined the importance of providing the health services in the region's hospital with high quality commensurate with the support given by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince provide to the sector.

Addressing the ceremony, the Health Minister, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah confirmed that the new health projects are the culmination of the generous support provided by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince. He pointed out that the implemented projects will achieve a qualitative shift in the health services provided for the advanced cases in the region, by increasing the bed capacity to quickly accepting the critical cases and reducing the waiting time for scheduled surgeries. 

Concluding his speech, Al-Rabiah thanked the Governor for his continued support to the region's health sector, all colleagues of the health affairs and staff of the health facilities for the efforts exerted to upgrade performance and improve the health services provided for the citizens in line with the Saudi Vision 2030. 
 
Then, the attendees watched a presentation on the region's health projects 2020, including the full operation of the north medical tower, on an area of 18,000 square meters, and with a capacity of 300 beds, serving all residents of the region, as well as opening an extension to the affairs' building, and progressive operation of the maternity and childbirth tower in Rafha. 

At the end of the ceremony, the Governor honored a number of supportive bodies and participants in the implementation of the health projects in the region. He received a memorial gift from the Health Minister. Then, he toured the 4-story building and met with the medical and administrative staff and was briefed on the working environment in all departments. 

After that, the Governor launched an electronic initiative (national healthy marriage day), which targets health education, preventing the spread of some genetic and infectious diseases and to give medical advice on the odds of transmitting these diseases to the other partner or children in the future, as well as providing marriage seekers with options and alternatives to help them plan for a healthy family.
