MOH Participates in Arab-Chinese Women’s Forum

The Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Human Resources Agency, participates in the Arab-Chinese Women’s Forum to be launched tomorrow (Thursday) at Princess Nourah Bint Abdul Rahman University in Riyadh, with a special pavilion to highlight its efforts in the field of women care and maintaining their health and safety. 

MOH aims to implement a number of initiatives to improve the quality of health services provided to women across the Kingdom, to launch women and child health clinics at commercial complexes, to introduce and develop mental and social services for women, as well as holding several nursing motivation programs. 

According to MOH, there are 79,259 female nurses in the Kingdom, 38,487 of them, or 49%, are Saudis distributed across 284 hospitals, including 20 obstetrics and gynecology hospitals all over the Kingdom. Also, the Kingdom has introduced early detection of breast cancer encouragement programs through provision of 73 mammogram screening clinics across the Kingdom, as well as modern breastfeeding organization programs, including new services and facilities to help women master breastfeeding. In addition, MOH has introduced qualitative and motivational programs to encourage women to monitor diabetes, and awareness campaigns on boosting women mental health.  Also, it has launched 58 awareness campaigns on obesity in women. ​

It is noteworthy that MOH is keen to empower women through making them assume leadership and supervisory positions in order to achieve its strategic objectives, and currently there are 195 women with leadership positions, including 2 as assistant deputy minister and 18 as director general. Also, MOH seeks to develop women competencies and train them in different fields and regions.
