Under the auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, May Allah protect him, the Health Minister, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah will open tomorrow (Wednesday) in Jeddah, the 4th International Conference for Mass Gatherings Medicine. The 4-day conference, which is organized by the Ministry of Health (MOH), attracts considerable international participation by 100 national and international speakers from more than 30 countries to discuss the latest development in the field.
According to MOH, the conference will discuss a number of topics related to mass gathering management experiences and gains, including, systems development, financing mechanism, health awareness, education, health security, e-health, public health surveillance, and standards of care in mass gatherings. The conference will also discuss studies related to mass gathering medicine, emergency and risk management in mass gathering, Hajj and Umrah, such as: AMR & diseases transmission, infectious diseases, volunteering in mass gathering, predicting needs in mass gathering. The conference targets health practitioners involved in mass gathering health and management, in addition to planners and organizers of various activities
During the conference, the Kingdom will review its pioneering experience of managing over three millions pilgrims within restricted area and time frame during Hajj season, adds MOH.
It is worth mentioning that the conference is accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) with 33 Continuing Medical Education hours (CME), in addition to other 20 CME hours for affiliate workshops.
