MOH Reviews Its Pioneering Experience in Public Health Management of Mass Gatherings

​During the fourth International Conference for Mass Gatherings Medicine, the Kingdom will review its pioneering and unique experience of managing over three millions pilgrims within a specified geographic range in a given period during Hajj seasons. It is noted that the conference will be held under the gracious patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, May Allah protect him, from December 10th to 13th, 2019 in Jeddah. 


It is worth mentioning that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a leading reference in public health management of mass gatherings, given the Kingdom's outstanding expertise in the field, which has been acclaimed by several international health organizations. Also, the conference attracts considerable international participation by 100 national and international speakers from more than 30 countries to discuss the latest development in the field. 

According to MOH, the conference will discuss a number of topics related to mass gatherings management experiences and gains, including, systems development, financing mechanism, health awareness, education, health security, e-health, public health surveillance, and standards of mass gathering medical care.  The conference will, also, discuss studies related to mass gathering medicine, emergency and risk management in mass gathering, Hajj and Umrah, such as: AMR & diseases transmission, infectious diseases, volunteering in mass gathering, and future health care needs. The conference targets health practitioners involved in mass gathering health and management, in addition to planners and organizers of various activities.
