According to Jazan Health Affairs, over the third quarter of this year (2019), the Cardiology Unit of Prince Muhammad bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz Hospital has conducted 756 cardiac catheterizations (coronary angiograms), with 319 cardiac catheterizations using contrast dye, 49 balloon angioplasties, 351 coronary stenting procedures (percutaneous coronary interventions), 5 valvuloplasties (balloon valvotomy procedures), and 10 atrial septal defect (ASD) closure procedures, in addition to other twenty two cardiac surgeries.
