The Ministry of Health has honored a number of nurses (female and male), winners of "Appreciate Your Nurse" Contest, which was organized by MOH across the Kingdom's regions and provinces. The award is an initiative within the campaign to show appreciation for the nursing profession, with the aim of boosting the relation between the patient and nurse through voting for the best nurse.
The Health Minister had earlier announced launching an award dubbed: "Health Minster's Award for Distinguished Nurse" to show appreciation and support for nurses every year. Also, MOH had launched a project to enhance the nursing profession in line with the national transformation initiatives and the ministry's strategic objective of increasing community partnership and the interest in the profession, in order to achieve the Kingdom Vision 2030. The project aims to engage the nurses, school and university students and segments of community to promote the profession and improve efficiency of nurses.
It is to be noted that over 5,000 nurses participated in the contest, and more than one million persons in voting.
