The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) has accredited the Home Healthcare Department- Madinah as the first training center for home healthcare nursing diploma. This accreditation comes as a part of the Ministry of Health's (MOH) keenness to upgrade competencies of the nursing category, the main pillars of home healthcare, which will be positively reflected on services provided to patients. Madinah Health Affairs has designated a floor in its building for training. It is enhanced with all elements of effective training with the aim of achieving accreditation provisions including qualified training staff, and preparation of training rooms, skill laboratory, simulation laboratory and medical library. Also, policies and procedures have been developed as well as coordination with the relevant bodies to provide an appropriate environment for training and enabling trainees to deal with different cases to achieve training objectives.
It is noteworthy that this achievement is the direct outcome of cooperation with a number of the Affairs' departments (Training and Scholarships, Nursing, King Fahad General Hospital, Cardiac Center and Nursing College of Taibah University), as well as the National Home Health Care Foundation (NHHCF) as a strategic partner in all development and training program in the center.
