Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Director of Jeddah Health Affairs Dr. Meshal Al-Sayali inaugurated today (Tuesday) the activities of the 6th Saudi Hypertension Conference organized by Saudi Hypertension Management Society (SHMS), under the theme "Control Your Blood Pressure before It Controls You", at Sofitel Al-Hamra Hotel, Jeddah.
In a speech he delivered on this occasion, Dr. Al-Sayali welcomed the attendees, pointing that the conference, Allah willing, will contribute to spreading updated and documented information about diagnosing, preventing and treating hypertension in our community. The conference, he added, is in line with the scientific and medical development in the Kingdom and our aspirations for a world-class medical renaissance in accordance with the Saudi Vision 2030. He prayed for Allah to help the participants to develop the healthcare for blood pressure diseases and to provide the cutting-edge treatment and diagnosis in order to upgrade the level of health services in our beloved Kingdom.
The conference's scientific program reviewed a number of issues including the latest developments in the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension and its complications, effect of emotions on high blood pressure, raising public awreness about hypertension, in addition to lectures and seminars with the participation of a number of local and international speakers and experts.
The conference is accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS), with 24 Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours. A number of hypertension consultants answered queries from the public, briefed them about the disease and measured their blood pressure level.
