According to the Eastern Region Health Affairs, over the past year, ten hospitals affiliated to the Ministry of Health (MOH) served more than 649,106 emergencies and 308,506 outpatients, as well as performing 2,097 surgeries, 14,955 dialysis sessions, 1,961 one-day surgeries, 119,255 x-ray examination, and 1,546 birth cases.
These steps come in line with MOH’s efforts to achieve one of its objectives in the National Transformation Program (NTP) 2020, in terms of improving the health care provided before hospitalization and at emergency and ICU departments of main hospitals. Also, this goal, which is associated with one of the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030, is to improve the quality of both preventive and therapeutic health services.
