30 October 2017
Al-Qatif Central Hospital has successfully excised a rare benign abdominal tumor from a 6-months-old baby. According to the Eastern Health Affairs, a medical team at Al-Qatif Central Hospital has remarkably resected an uncommon polyp in the duodenum, which required a highly sophisticated and precise surgery; as the polyp shares the same wall of the gastric; with a risk to leave a rupture in the duodenum or the bile duct.

Thank Allah the operation has been successful without any complications thereafter. The baby was discharged with his family eight days the surgery.

It is noted that the Ministry of Health (MOH) is currently implementing MOH's Performance Program, which aims to boost productivity, performance quality and efficiency of health services in hospitals. The program is in line with the National Transformation Program 2020 towards achieving the Saudi  Vision 2030. The program covers 70 hospitals and features over 40 indicators to measure the performance of seven key therapeutic aspects.
