Prince Abdulaziz bin Mesa'ed Hospital - Arar: Delicate Medical Diagnosis Saves a Patient
The medical team of Prince Abdulaziz bin Mesa'ed Hospital - Arar has successfully saved a 41-year-old patient suffering from acute abdominal pains, recurrent vomiting and constipation. After due ultrasonic and CT screening, he was diagnosed with small-bowel obstruction caused by appendicitis. His appendix was surrounded by a thick fat layer in theretrocecal area, leading to a rare case of intestinal obstruction. Thank Allah the patient had a 2-hour successful operation. He was discharged after he recovered. Prince Abdulaziz bin Mesa'ed Hospital - Arar features a 110-bed capacity, serving 69,724 outpatients last year. Its emergency also received 71,924 cases.

It is noted that the Ministry of Health (MOH) is currently implementing MOH's Performance Program, which aims to boost productivity, performance quality and efficiency of health services in hospitals. The program is in line with the National Transformation Plan 2020 towards achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The program covers 70 hospitals and features over 40 indicators to measure the performance of seven key therapeutic aspects, which have positively reduced the waiting times.
