Northern Border Health Affairs has obtained the accreditation of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) as a training center for the Saudi Specialty Certification Program in family medicine department. Three healthcare centers are covered by this accreditation, namely: Al-Salehiya Primary Healthcare Center, Padnah Primary Healthcare Center and South Al-Faisaliah Primary Healthcare Center.
This accreditation is considered a productive step towards upgrading academic and professional level of medical competencies at the centers. The program will receive trainees as of next October.
It is noted that the Northern Border Region has 10 hospitals with a total capacity of 1,300 beds, in addition to 47 primary healthcare centers.
