MOH Approves the Formation of Hajj Preparatory Committees

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has approved the formation of Hajj Preparatory Committees, the assignment of the Supervisor General of Health Services for Hajj and Umrah as head of these preparatory committees and the membership of a number of deputy ministers and directors general. This came in the resolution, issued by His Excellency the Minister of Health, which stipulated the division of labor, in terms of preparation, planning and supervision of Hajj health services into three major phases. Furthermore, the resolution stipulated the assignment of the health committees and health affairs in both of Makkah and Madinah regions to submit all plans, programs, projects, requirements and equipment (medical and non-medical), which are required for Hajj and Umrah season to the Health Services for Hajj and Umrah General Department, so as to be studied, as well as taking the necessary action for requirements to be fulfilled in coordination with relevant authorities and committees. The resolution also stipulated that each of Makkah Health Affairs Directorate and Madinah Health Affairs Directorate to form a “Hajj Executive Committee” in both regions, under the chairmanship of the Director General of Health Affairs in both regions, provided that each of the executive committees shall be related to the head of each similar committee at the Ministry, with regard to the Hajj preparations works.
 
Besides, the resolution stipulated that the Health Services for Hajj and Umrah General Department will have to undertake the tasks entrusted to it, in terms of providing all public services for the MOH’s officials and delegates during Hajj season, following up and fulfilling all tasks related to the MOH Visiting Hajj Manpower Program, projects and special requirements of preparatory Hajj committees and both Makkah and Madinah Regions. The tasks entrusted to the Health Services for Hajj and Umrah General Department also include preparing and updating the guidelines of procedures, policies and tasks of preparatory Hajj committees, in addition to preparing the annual plan of Hajj Season Program.
 
It is worth mentioning that this resolution comes within the framework of early preparations for Hajj of this current year 1438H, based on the work interest; including distributing tasks, phases, and leaders of sectors and committees during process of arrangement, preparation, implementation, follow-up and field supervision on Hajj health services of 1438H between the MOH central departments in its headquarters and both of Makkah and Madinah regions.
