MOH Completes ICU Expansion Projects

The Ministry of Health (MOH) said that it has completed, during this year 2016, many expansion and development projects of Intensive Care Unit (ICU), using the modular system. These projects include inauguration of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Maternity and Children Hospital in Najran (with a capacity of 42 beds), ICU at King Khalid Hospital in Najran (with a capacity of 38 beds), NICU at Maternity and Children Hospital in   Arar (with a capacity of 42 beds) and NICU at Maternity and Children Hospital in Abha (with a capacity of 52 beds). Moreover, the MOH has completed the first stage of development of ICU at King Fahad Hospital in Madinah (with a capacity of 34 beds out of 67), the first stage of expansion and development of NICU at Maternity and Children Hospital in Dammam (with a capacity of 46 beds out of 104), the first stage of expansion and development of NICU at Maternity and Children Hospital in Hail (with a capacity of 34 beds out of 62), the first stage of expansion and development of ICU at King Fahad Specialized Hospital in Buraidah (with a capacity of 25 beds out of 32), as well as  a project for expansion and development NICU at Maternity and Children Hospital in Buraidah (with a capacity of 82 beds).

 
These initiatives come in line with the Kingdom Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program (NTP), as the MOH seeks, through such initiatives, to improve its health services and raise efficiency of operation and performance at its facilities and to utilize all available capabilities to provide health care services for citizens.
