In the context of a series of workshops to be held by the Ministry of Health (MOH) on the project of health care model, the first workshop launched in Riyadh with the participation of about 300 participants from different parts of the Kingdom representing all segments of society including citizens, patients and health practitioners such as physicians and nurses and others. The workshop organized by a team from MOH's Strategic Transformation Center, aims to come up with recommendations and consensus of the participants on the current status of the health model in the Kingdom and finding areas of weakness and strength, as well as the challenges it faces and available opportunities.
This workshop is one of three workshops with the aim of designing the ideal model for health care in the Kingdom, said the MOH, adding that health care model represents a cornerstone of the MOH's strategic transformation plan.
It explained that the workshop, currently in session, is the first workshop that aims to reach a consensus on the present situation, the matter which is important for the second workshop to be held after a month, in order to come up with an initial draft of the ideal model of health care, from the perspective of patient and citizen. The third workshop will be on developing final design of the health cared model in the Kingdom, prior to holding national summit during six months from now.
The MOH noted that development of health care model represents an important step in the transformation of health care in the Kingdom, in line with the Kingdom Vision 20230 and the Transformation Plan 2020, pointing out that the new health system will be based on a perfected health care model, the matter which will help having an integrated and ideal health system that provides the citizens and patient with all their needs. It said it focuses on many principles including paying attention to all segments of society, maintaining safety of individuals and the control of citizens and their families over their health and health care services as well, in addition to giving patients access to all aspects of knowledge, and to provide the best level of health care to them, and to provide an integrated system in accordance with viewpoints of patients.
