MOH Inaugurates 11 Nutrition Clinics at Referential Primary Healthcare Centers

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has recently inaugurated 11 nutrition clinics at the referential primary healthcare centers in five regions and governorates of the Kingdom, namely: Jeddah, Makkah, Jazan, Al-Ahsa, and Al-Qassim. This inauguration comes within the framework of the MOH’s endeavors to plan and implement its strategies, plans, and projects, which support the provision and application of quality standards in the health care and nutritional care at its health facilities. This is to control such diseases associated with malnutrition and chronic diseases, by means of planning appropriate diets based on health condition, promoting health awareness and education, and changing bad eating habits, and adopting healthy eating habits for all segments of society, in such a manner that meets the desired aspirations.
 
Within the same vein, the MOH has held a workshop under the title: “Establishment and Activation of Nutrition Clinics at Referential Primary Healthcare Centers Project”. The workshop targeted the coordinators of nutrition and healthcare centers at health affairs general directorates in the Kingdom’s regions and governorates. It aimed at educating the coordinators with the project, its objectives, their tasks, the ways to inaugurate nutrition clinics at the referential primary healthcare centers, and the mechanism of providing the nutritional care with its preventive and therapeutic parts in the centers. The workshop also aimed at shedding light on the work policies and procedures inside the clinic of each center, holding panel discussions to share experiences and most useful experiences, and discussing the challenges among elite of specialists participating in the workshop, in addition to the fact that the excellence of nutritional care for beneficiaries is reckoned a great duty and responsibility of everyone.
