26 January 2017
Thanks to Allah, a medical team at King Abdullah Medical City (KAMC) in Makkah has contributed to restoring the limb movement to a lady in her thirtieth, after removing a tumor that was pressing on the spinal cord at level of the first and second cervical segments.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) pointed out that the patient had been suffering from pains in her neck before two years. After she had been admitted to the KAMC, her condition had urgently been diagnosed and necessary tests had been conducted to her. The tests showed the presence of a large tumor, at level of first and second cervical segments, causing pressure on the spinal cord, the matter which led to weakness in her four limbs gradually. This condition made her unable to walk, meanwhile using her hands normally.

Within the same vein, the MOH indicated that the surgery has been conducted by a medical team, comprising a number of consultants, who fully removed the tumor without any complications, May Allah be praised. Within less of a week, the patient returned home on foot with her family. She is currently being followed up by a physiotherapy team at outpatient clinics.
