Saudi-British Joint Ministerial Committee Holds its 6th Meeting

In the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Health, Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih and His Excellency the Minister of State for Community and Social Care at the UK Department of Health, Alistair Burt, the 6th meeting of the Saudi-British Joint Ministerial Committee was held yesterday, Wednesday, at the MOH Headquarter. The meeting was attended from the Saudi side by His Excellency the Vice Minister of Health, Mr. Hamad Al-Doweila’ and some of the MOH senior officials, and from the British side by directors and professors of some leading British educational and medical institutions and universities, as well as British embassy diplomats.
 
The meeting reviewed a number of subjects and projects, most notably a training project for Saudi postgraduate students, a project to promote and enhance the health systems quality, a project for cooperation in the health researches domain, a project for application of e-medical records system in the primary health care, a project for training of health workers in the field of primary health care and a project to upgrade the performance of contracting and partnership between private and public sectors in both two countries, as well as a project for cooperation in the field of blood diseases and cancer treatment and control.
 
At the end of the meeting, both sides has signed an executive agreement for cooperation between both countries in the field of training the specialized Saudi cadres in Britain; by means of establishing a medical training project for international postgraduate students, with a view to providing an appropriate training for Saudi physicians and specialists at the same value and level of quality provided for those physicians willing to work for the British health services.
