Saudi MOH & Italian MOH Sign a Cooperation Agreement on Visiting Physician Program

The Saudi Ministry of Health (MOH) has signed with the Italian MOH a cooperation agreement on Visiting Physician Program. The agreement was signed by the Director General of Specialized Centers and Visiting Physicians Affairs, Dr. Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Wade‘i, representing the Saudi MOH, and the Director General of Relations and International Cooperation at the Italian MOH from the Italian side.
 
Upon signing the agreement recently in Rome, Al-Wade‘i highlighted that this agreement comes in implementation of the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Health, Eng. Khalid Al-Falih, in terms of  adopting the MOH’s new trend to attract provisional and permanent medical competencies.
 
 “We visited some Italian health facilities, including the Oncology Center in Rome, which is an advanced center with 1100-bed capacity, the Organ Transplant Center (liver and kidney), the Injuries Center, the Acute Stroke Treatment Unit, and Saint Lucia Hospital for Rehabilitation,” stated Al-Wade‘i.
 
He went on saying: “During the meeting, we discussed ways to exchange expertise between the two countries, especially in the health domain, including the training and scholarships for health cadres. In regard to the field of chronic diseases control, we met with several officials at Diabetes Center, Cancer Center and Stroke Center.”
 
It is worth mentioning that the Saudi MOH delegation comprised the Director General of Genetic and Chronic Diseases Control, Dr. Muhammad Sa‘aidi, and the Director General of Training and Scholarships, Dr. Mansour Al-Yami.
