25 October 2015
The Ministry of Health (MOH) has participated in the exhibition accompanying the International Conference on Countering Diabesity in Gulf Countries, inaugurated by His Excellency the Minister of Health, Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, last Tuesday.

The Obesity Control Program (OCP) and the National Program for Diabetes Control (NPDC) under the title: “Diabetes  ... Be Aware of It” have participated in the exhibition via a booth, supervised by the MOH’s Exhibitions and Conventions Department. The booth comprised a number of activities, including the early detection of obesity by measuring weight, height and body mass index (BMI), the early detection of obesity complications (e.g. diabetes and hypertension),  and raising awareness of the importance of a balanced diet and physical activity, as well as raising awareness of the risks of obesity, diabetes and hypertension.

It is worth mentioning that the OCP won the first place of the best Awareness Production Award in the conference, which was received by the Program’s director, Dr. Shaker bin Abdulaziz Al-Omari.
