Eng. Al-Falih Meets His Egyptian Counterpart and His Accompanying Delegation

His Excellency the Minister of Health, Eng. Khalid Al-Falih, met at his office in Jeddah yesterday (Wednesday) evening, Dhul-Hijjah 17, 1436H, with His Excellency the Egyptian Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Emaduddin Radi and the delegation accompanying him. 

Commencing the meeting, Eng. Al-Falih extended to the guest minister the condolences of the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, HRH the Crown Prince, Deputy Premier, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee, and HRH the Deputy Crown Prince, the Second Deputy Premier, and Minister of Defense, to the Egyptian Government and the families of the deceased Egyptian pilgrims in Mina stampede incident. He expressed his deep grief and sorrow for this tragic incident and reviewed the Ministry's efforts and the adopted measures to deal with this incident and provide the best therapeutic and ambulatory services for the patients, as well as offering all kinds of cooperation to the Egyptian Government in searching the missing Egyptian pilgrims and facilitating measures of transporting the deceased ones for the families wishing to do so.   

On his part, the Egyptian Minister of Health commended the role of the Saudi Government and its efforts in serving pilgrims, lauding the great services it offered for the sake of the Two Holy Mosques and the pilgrims. He also praised the role undertaken by the Saudi Ministry of Health (MOH) in treating patients and providing healthcare for them. Meanwhile, he thanked the MOH for its cooperation shown in facilitating measures of identifying the bodies of those who died in Mina stampede incident, and dealing with them according to the desire of their relatives.   

The meeting was attended by the Saudi Vice Minister of Health, Mr. Hamad Al-Duweila', the Director- General of Jeddah Health Affairs, Dr. Mubarak bin Hassan Assiri, and the Supervisor-General of the Hajj and Umrah Services General Department, Dr. Hussein bin Abdullah Ghannam. 

From the Egyptian side, the meeting was attended by the Egyptian Ambassador, Adil Al-Alfi, and the delegation accompanying the guest minister. 

In a similar context, the two ministers made an inspection tour yesterday evening, during which they visited the Egyptian pilgrims injured in the stampede incident and receiving treatment in the hospitals, where they checked on their health status and reviewed the healthcare provided for them.
