MOH Managed to Refer 4.634 Patients Last Week, Including 121 Life-Saving Cases
16 September 2015
Thanks be to Allah, the MOH's Referral Program (Ehalati) has managed to save the lives of 121 patients, after delivering specialized services at reference hospitals, and referred 4.634 others over the period from September 6th to 12th 2015 (corresponding to Dhul-Qi‘dah 22nd to 28th, 1436H). This comes as part of the unstinting support given for specialized therapeutic services amongst the regions of the Kingdom.

This was announced by the Supervisor of Ehalati Program, Mr. Suleiman Ahmad Al-Sharie, who revealed that out of the referred cases, through automated and paperless systems, to the specialized and reference hospitals, 3,105 patients (amounting to 67%) were approved, 1,091 progressing cases (at a rate of 23.5%) are still being considered, while 280 cases (at a rate of 6%) received their treatment in the same hospital, and 158 cases (at a rate of 3.4%) were placed on the waiting list, and will be handled in the coming period depending on the health condition.

Mr. Al-Sharie pointed out that the life-saving cases amounted to 121 (at a rate of 2.61%), whereas the emergency cases amounted to 1,030 (at a rate of 22.23%). Inpatients amounted to 1,062 cases (at a rate of 22.92%), and the cases referred to the outpatient clinics amounted to 2,421 (at a rate of 52.24% of all referred cases).

It's worth mentioning that ‘Ehalati’ Program is reckoned one of the new e-programs carried out by the Ministry of Health. Advantages of the program include providing medical counseling among physicians in the various medical facilities to study the health situation of the patient without the need for transferring him. It also provides all the logistic and coordination-related requirements to refer the patient from one medical facility to another. In addition, the program provides an accurate archiving and statistical system, which contains information of the referred patients through the program to different health facilities across the Kingdom.
