MOH Organizes a Training Course Titled, “Operational Measures of MOH Research Ethics Committees”

The Researches and Studies General Department at the Ministry of Health (MOH) will organize a two-days training course titled, “Operational Measures of MOH Research Ethics Committees,” on Sunday morning Sha'aban 20th 1436H.
 
The course come within the efforts of the MOH, represented by the Researches and Studies General Department, to develop and unify policies and work procedures at the MOH's Ethics Committees at the central and local levels, in addition to organizing and facilitating health research activities that are conducted within the ministry's facilities without violating international standards of ethical and scientific review, and setting the guidelines and unified standard operational measures to include all parties pertinent to the ministry.
 
Additionally, the course will tackle the different concepts of ethical issues in the field of health research at the local and international levels, as well as ethical principles of decision making, and steps to directly apply for the research ethics committee.
 
On other hand, the Research and Studies General Department has recently organized a workshop to discuss aspects of cooperation in the field of health researches between the MOH and the World Health Organization's (WHO) Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, in the presence of a number of specialists from the MOH departments.
 
The workshop included reviewing the objectives, tasks, aspects of work, and priorities of research offices in the WHO in general, and the unit of information, evidences, development and innovation in health researches in particular.
 
Covered topics included reviewing the Eastern Mediterranean Health Journal and developing health research policies to keep a breast with the international and regional initiatives; that's to be added to reviewing research scholarships offered by the WHO, as well as the requirements of application, approval and continuity of the health centers to be outstanding regional and international centers cooperating with the organization.
 
The workshop tackled also ways of activating cooperation between the MOH and the WHO in the fields of creating research cadres and boosting the heath research domain in the Kingdom, besides facilitating prospects of cooperation.
