Al-Falih to Patronize the Saudi Health Simulation Conference 2015

Under the auspices of His Excellency the Minister of Health, Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, the Ministry of Health (MOH) will organize the Saudi Health Simulation Conference 2015 over the period from June 9th to 11th, 2015 (corresponding to Sha‘ban 22nd to 24th, 1436 H) at Al-Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh. The conference aims at setting an integrated national strategy for simulation-based training to manage the infrastructure and create governing policies. More than 60 international and domestic speakers in the field of clinical simulation will participate in the conference that will be accompanied by 13 specialized workshops in this field, focusing on using high resolution simulation in heath training and education. Meanwhile, the Director General of Training and Scholarships, and the Head of the Organizing Committee, Dr. Mansour Al-Yami, said that the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) has accredited 24 hours of continued medical education (CME) for the conference, and that such hours were accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the Society in Europe for Simulation applied to medicine- SESAM.
 
He added that an awareness training course targeting all sectors of the community will be held on the sidelines of the conference under the title: "Simulation for Public Preparedness." It will be attended by about 200 participants, including workers in the security companies and factories as well as the public, in an endeavor to increase knowledge about ways of saving lives at times of emergencies and crises.
 
Additionally, he said that the intensive scientific program will be accompanied by a number of activities including "Sim Dawri" to be attended by highly qualified and trained teams in the health simulation-based training from several health entities to display their experiences in this field through simulating some scientific scenarios reflecting the real situation when dealing with real patients. He went on saying that these experiences will be evaluated by specialized arbitration teams and the public participating in the contest to choose the winning team.
